Le Cinque Terre

World Heritage Site Italy

Monterosso

Is the biggest of the five villages. The first historical mentions are dated back to 1200. Split into two halves, from the promontory we find two areas.
Fegina which is famous for its promenade and for the 14 meter high statue of Neptune, the other section is renowned for the old harbour and the city center.
Two iconic buildings are the San Giovanni Battista Church dating from 1282 and the Aurora Tower built in 1600.

Vernazza

Founded around the year 1000 it’s crossed by steep and narrow streets ending in a small square that connects to the harbour.
During our walk we will have the time to take a look at the lodges and the porticoes. We will also discover a café with a wonderful view between the sea and the mountain here!

Corniglia

Corniglia stands along a rocky promontory about 100 meters high in a basin intensively cultivated with vineyards.
The view from the Lardarina staircase, of 22 flights and 377 steps, is worth the trek and is amazing!

Manarola

Following the stone paved alleyways of Manarola. We arrive at the Belvedere, a long promenade ending in the main square of the village with a beautiful view of the Ligurian Sea.
We will also visit the Gothic San Lorenzo Church and its iconic bell tower.
Manarola is connected to Riomaggiore in two ways: the panoramic higher pathway and the seaside pathway also called “Via dell’Amore” - “the Love way”. Both of them require about an hour of walking.

Riomaggiore

Approximately founded around 700 A.D. is the perfect icon of the picturesque Ligurian style architecture, with 6 story buildings stacked on top of one another. Usually there are 2 or 3 floors surrounded by Mediterranean flora.
Here we will visit the neo-Gothic San Giovanni Battista Church built in 1340, the San Lorenzo Church erected in 1338, has a beautifully carved rose shaped window. Nearby, the Riomaggiore Castle was constructed in 1260.
